My name is Herman Tumurcuoglu, I was the founder of the search engine Mamma.com and I am an Internet Marketing Consultant. My areas of practice include SEO, SEM and Web Analytics. My clients are some of the most successful Ecommerce companies.

I teach several marketing classes including at Concordia University and 2 very interesting classes on web analytics and design at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. The first one is called CMIS 530 and it is the first ever Web Analytics course in a English University in Eastern Canada. The second course is about analysis and Design CMIS 543 where we examin the role of testing and web inteligence.
This Blog was built primarily for me and my students to keep in touch with each other and exchange interesting ideas about the world of web analytics.
These classes are part of McGill’s continuing education program and the students enrolled in this program have a bachelors degree in a wide variety of disciplines. The program is very hands on an entrepreneurial. My teaching approach with my students is open ended (California style) free flow discussions and I encourage out of the box thinking. Participation is strongly encouraged both during class hours as well as “off hours” where students can have discussions via digital media. As with everything on the Internet, I have decided to open these off hour discussions to the larger community of web professionals with Web Analytics Blog.
Student’s in my class benefit from guest lecturers that are stand outs in their field, instructional video, real life data with Google Analytics account and each course I teach culminates in a group project that enables the students to work together as a team and apply the theory and class discussions into their projects. When ever possible we work on real world case studies with real Internet Entrepreneurs.
I also believe in helping my students find relevant work and networking opportunities. This blog is just one of the tools I hope to use to help students with their careers. If you are a student of mine and/or a web marketing professional, I encourage you to post your findings and relevant news on this blog and share your experiences with others, this will be helpful to us all. This site is part of your network, be sure to keep in touch!
